The grab or ghurab was a common ship type in the Indian Ocean in the 18th 19th and early 20th centuries.
This type combined the native hull form with a pointed, low-slung bow with European rigging and one or two masts.
These ships were used by all Indian principalities, especially in the Marathen Navy.
The East India Trading Company also had this type of ship built in their own shipyards and used them in large numbers.
