American Civil War

One could argue, of course, that river fighting during the American Civil War was of little importance to the overall course of the war.
In fact, the land battles are much better known, with a few exceptions perhaps.
Nevertheless, some sensational battles took place on the water and technical development made quantum leaps in terms of armament, armour, propulsion and tactics of the ships.
For example, the Confederate ironclad CSS Albermarle is known to be the first warship to be sunk by a torpedo!
Granted, it was a so-called spar or rod torpedo (not what we think of as a torpedo today) and it had to be delivered to the target by a small gunboat - but the fact as such will remain in the history books forever.
Other terms would be, for example: mines and submarines - and the list could go on.

With our models, however, we want to focus on the playful tabletop aspect !
The models are approximately 1:1200 scale and are therefore small enough to bring a larger number of them onto the tabletop.
On the other hand, they are large enough to be handled well.
By the way, a set of rules for these ships and the way of fighting is in preparation - first test games were very successful !
